Stockholm with some 800 000 inhabitants in the city and around 2 million in the metropolitan area is the financial and economical centre of Sweden. Stockholm is a delightfully clean and welcoming city with lots of space to breath thanks to its location on the shore and islands of the Baltic Sea. Stockholm also has lots and lots of finely preserved old buildings for the visitor to enjoy and even just sitting in an outdoor cafe watching the boats and ships travel in and out of the harbour provides nice entertainment for an hour or two. Best time to visit Stockholm is probably the summer months between May and September.
