Ko Jam is on the western coast of Thailand, between Krabi and Ko Lanta. The best way to get there is by the boat that travels between Krabi and Ko Lanta. The boat stops in front of Ko Jam and long tail boats of the cottage villages pick up the travelers. Another option is to hire a long tail boat to take you directly to Ko Jam.
The charm of Ko Jam is besides its beautiful landscapes the fact that there is no disturbing tourist business. No souvenir shops, discos or peddlers and only a handful of tourists. The atmosphere is very homely and intimate. There is only sea, sandy beach, sun and good food. Therefore it is the perfect place to relax a few days or longer, read books, enjoy the sunshine and taste delicate sea-food.

Only footprints...
Our cottage was quite primitive, the electricity was in use from six in the evening to midnight and there was no hot water in the bathroom. The cottage was simple, but cosy. There were lots of “ventilation holes”. Between the floor planks you could see the earth and through the ceiling the birds could enter. Fortunately there were mosquito nets.

Friendly and helpful bungalow staff cook delicious food as well
The beaches are untouched and getting from one beach to another is possible only by long tail boat or along the hot jungle road.

Beautiful orchids
The sea around Ko Jam is excellent for swimming and canoeing during high tide,
for snorkelling it is only mediocre. The tide differences are quite big. There is no scuba diving shop on the island.

Almost deserted beach

Relaxing with nothing to do but read a book- great!

A good place to spend even a week
