Denmark is one of the best countries in the world to explore by bicycle. It has an extensive and well-marked network of bike routes that take you directly to most sites of interest. Also the country is relatively flat and small so you don't have to be super-fit to enjoy sight-seeing by bike. The Danes are also very friendly towards travelers and most of them speak good English.
As all Nordic countries Denmark is quite expensive. If you don't want to live in a tent a good choice are the youth hostels. They welcome all ages, not just young people. Dorm beds, family rooms and double rooms are usually available.
The North Sea can change weather in Denmark very quickly. Even in mid-summer it is advisable to pack rain clothes and warm socks etc. When we bicycled southern parts of Denmark in July 2004 it was raining half of the time. That didn't stop us from making a truly memorable trip, though!
You can find links to information about youth hostels and bike routes in Denmark at the end of this picture series.

This is bicycling in Denmark at its' best!

The bike routes are clearly marked.

An old house at the road-side. Note the traditional straw roof.

As descendants of Viking the Danes still love and cherish their wooden boats.

Has this house belonged to a sea captain?

This pool looks kinda romantic...

Old country house in the fields.

We were quite startled as these massive cows "sneaked" up behind us.

Interesting colors on these ponies

Truly a country to see lots of horses.

This old manor house has been converted into a youth hostel (Aero)

Old windmill.

A large portion of Denmark's electricity is produce by these windmills.

Idyllic house (Aero).

As I mentioned earlier, it was raining most of the time.
So it was nice to have arrived at our next youth hostel!
